1967 Schwinn Sting-Ray, Deluxe, Ram's Horn & Fastback
There is only one Genuine Sting-Ray and it's made by Schwinn.
This was printed on one of their advertisements for 1967 and I suspect it was because other companies were copying their designs. But Schwinn didn't have much to worry about then as it would remain a top seller for several more years. In 1967 Schwinn introduced a couple more ideas, the Ram's Horn Fastback Sting-Ray model, Campus Green paint, and the Schwinn "MAG" sprocket. Paint colors for 1967 included the new Campus Green, Black, Violet, and Sky Blue. Schwinn also didn't make a Super Deluxe model this year and the Springer Fork was not present on any model.
The new Ram's Horn Fastback, or H-37 model, had some wacky handlebars that looked like, well, a big horn ram. The bars also looked a little like the curly 10 speed bars. This bike was $2 more than the regular Fastback and I believe was identical except for the bars and Rat Trap metal pedals. These models came in all 5 colors. Campus Green and Black was only seen on the Fastbacks this year for the Sting-Ray lineup.

A gorgeous NOS 1967 Schwinn Ram's Horn Fastback
The 1967 Deluxe Sting-Ray (J-39) was equipped with chrome fenders, a tufted Silver Glow saddle, Schwinn studded whitewall rear tire and a standard whitewall front tire 20 x 1 3/8. It came in 3 models, coaster brake, 2 speed overdrive, and 3 speed Stik Shift. Front and Rear handbrakes were available on the 3 speed only. The 2 speed had a single handbrake. Changed from the previous year was the sweeping handlebars borrowed from the Fastback. They came in Coppertone, Sky Blue and Violet.
The 1967 Sting-Ray base model was much the same as the Deluxe model described above. With the exception of the 3 speed model had the option of the Stik-Shifter or the trigger control, and it had blackwall tires with the rear being the famous Slik. Also the seat was not tufted and was more plain looking, or not as "Deluxe". This model also had the sweeping handlebars borrowed from the Fastback.
